Several local state representatives are among those calling on Governor Tom Wolf to convene a special session of the legislature focusing on election oversight.
Republican State Representatives Daryl Metcalfe, Aaron Bernstine, Tim Bonner, R. Lee James, and 28 other representatives and representatives-elect have sent a letter to Wolf urging him to use his constitutional authority to allow the new term to begin now instead of when the General Assembly is required to convene in January.
The letter goes on to say that “due to extraordinary election activities…it is necessary for the General Assembly…to ensure the integrity of the process”.
The letter lists 15 questions or areas connected to the recent general election in which information is needed including contracts with voting machine vendors and shift logs for all workers and volunteers at polling and tabulating locations during election week.
