Penn State defeated visiting Illinois on Saturday, the final 56-21.
The two teams were tied at 21 after the first quarter, but the Nittany Lions were able to score 35 unanswered points to come away with the win. Penn State quarterback Sean Clifford completed 16 of 22 passes for 285 yards and two touchdowns.
With the win on Saturday, Penn State improves their record to 4-5. There is a possibility that the team will receive an invite to participate in a post-season bowl game. It is unclear if the university would accept an invitation due to COVID-19 concerns.
