Over 17,000 healthcare workers have received their first dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine in Pennsylvania.
Dr. Rachel Levine provided an update yesterday and said that the state is also expecting the Moderna vaccine to arrive later this week.
She however encouraged state residents to mask up and be careful over the next few months.
“As we start the vaccination process, it will still be some months before manufacturers produce enough vaccine to immunize the general public,” Levine said. “That means mitigation is more important than ever.”
Levine said she anticipates around 198,000 doses of the Moderna vaccine this week, and over 30,000 additional doses of the Pfizer vaccine.
