Recent efforts by the Butler County Tourism and Convention Bureau have resulted in support for local workers as well as the local economy and businesses.
Bureau President Jack Cohen recently announced that the We Care Program through a partnership with the Butler County Commissioners and the Center for Community Resources raised $140,000 in 10 days.
This allowed for 1,400 laid-off workers in the hospitality industry to each receive $100 gift cards before the holidays.
The Bureau also sold a record-breaking 3,200 Butler County gift certificates including over 2,500 to Butler Health System. This amounts to over $80,000 for local businesses.
The 30 Days of Giveaways campaign was also a success and the Talk About Takeout social media campaign is ongoing with local residents invited to participate through the end of February for a chance to win more Butler County gift certificates.
