The new NHL season has been reduced to 56 games and begins just 3-1/2 months after the Tampa Bay Lightning won the Stanley Cup. The previous season was suspended for months because of the pandemic and ended with games being played in a “bubble” in Canada.
The NHL has realigned teams into regions and even created an all-Canadian division to avoid border crossing problems.
