Butler County has now surpassed 300 total deaths due to COVID-19.
According to Friday’s update by the state Department of Health, there were seven additional deaths for the county Friday—which brings the death toll to 306.
There were also 72 new cases of COVID-19 reported Friday.
As of Friday morning, Butler Memorial Hospital was treating 30 patients for the coronavirus which is five less than Wednesday, with six COVID patients in the ICU which is one more than Wednesday.
Due to the high volume of requests from the community and the limited supply of vaccine, Butler Health System has suspended scheduling requests at this time. Scheduling will re-open for healthcare workers and those ages 75 or older as BHS receives additional vaccine supply from the state.
Statewide, there were 5,338 new cases of COVID-19 and 193 additional deaths.
