The latest data shows just how deadly COVID-19 has been to residents of long term care facilities.
According to the Department of Health, nursing home residents have accounted for 70 percent of the deaths in Butler County. Of the 328 people who have died due to COVID in the county, 230 have been nursing home patients.
The data also revealed that just over 16 percent of those who contracted COVID in a nursing home in Butler County died due to the virus. That number increases to 18 percent statewide.
