Former Steeler guard Alan Faneca and assistant personnel director Bill Nunn have been elected to the NFL Hall of Fame.
The class of 2021 was announced on Saturday night. The class also includes quarterback Peyton Manning and receiver Calvin Johnson, among others.
Faneca played ten seasons with the Steelers before playing two more seasons with the Jets, and one season with the Cardinals. He was also part of the Steelers’ fifth championship team. This year was the sixth time that Faneca was a finalist for the Hall of Fame.
The late Bill Nunn started with the Steelers as a scout in 1968, and served in various capacities through 2014. He was credited as one of the architects of the team’s dynasty in the 1970’s. Nunn was also a former editor for the Pittsburgh Courier.
Induction ceremonies are tentatively scheduled for August 5th through the 9th in Canton, Ohio.
