A local woman involved in the Capitol riot could be released from the Butler County Prison later this week.
Our news partners at WPXI report that 40-year-old Rachel Powell of Mercer County—known as the “pink hat lady”—had a detention hearing yesterday.
Her attorney argued that the mother of eight is not a flight risk, gave up her firearms, and has long standing ties to the community.
Powell was arrested last week for her role in the attack on the Capitol building on January 6th. She allegedly used a battering ram to break a window and shouting directions with a bullhorn.
