The Butler City Police have introduced officer body cameras beginning last week.
According to Chief Bob O’Neill, two cameras have been received from AXON as part of a trial run while he continues to search for funding.
Over the next 30 days of the trial, the department will do some fact finding with a goal of having all officers outfitted full-time with cameras by the end of the year.
O’Neill has been in favor of adding these cameras since he took over the position, but funding remains the top issue of concern.
