Teachers in Butler County will begin to receive the vaccine for COVID-19 on Saturday.
Butler Area School District Superintendent Dr. Brian White informed school board members Monday night that the state has contracted with a company to provide the vaccine for teachers in Butler, Lawrence, and Mercer counties March 13th through March 19th.
The location of the distribution is not being made public but teachers will be able to register then select an available day and time in that window to receive the immunization shot for COVID-19.
White also said that he does expect some disruptions to staffing next week while schedules are being adjusted to allow employees the chance to receive the vaccine.
