The state has completed its goal of vaccinating teachers and staff according to Governor Tom Wolf.
“We set out, what I think was a very ambitious goal, and that was to have every teacher, school bus driver, cafeteria, janitor in public and private schools to have them vaccinated by the middle of April,” Wolf said. “We actually achieved that by this past Wednesday, two weeks early.”
That works out to more than 112,000 people who received the Johnson and Johnson vaccine over the last three weeks.
Wolf says the vaccination of teachers is a big step of getting kids back to school, and staying in school.
“Vaccines are the light at the end of the tunnel,” Wolf said. “And with the completion of this special initiative on education, we’re step closer to the end of that tunnel. And that’s something for everyone in the Commonwealth to celebrate.”
