High School Playoff Schedule:
Karns City will meet Punxsutawney tonight in the District-8/9 3A championship game. The Gremlins have won five D9 championships in a row. The two teams met in September at Karns City. The Gremlins won that game 42-32. Kick-off at Clarion University’s Memorial Stadium will be 7pm.
WPIAL Football playoffs:
–North Allegheny (8-3) and Pine-Richland (11-0) will meet at Ambridge high school Friday at 7:30pm in their 6A semifinal matchup.
–Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic (9-2) will face Serra Catholic (7-4) at Hampton high school Friday at 7:30pm in the 2A quarterfinals.
Grove City will meet Meadville Saturday in the District-10 5A championship game at Greenville high school. Kick-off is 7pm.
Girls Soccer Playoffs Saturday:
–Mars will face Villa Maria Saturday in the state 3A quarterfinals. The match will be played at Wilmington high school at noon.
–Karns City will face Mercyhurst Prep Saturday at Slippery Rock high school at 4pm in the 2A quarterfinals.
–North Allegheny and Norwin meet in the 4A quarterfinals at Fox Chapel. Game begins at noon.
–Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic will face Shady Side Academy in the 1A quarterfinals. Game begins at noon.
Boys Soccer Playoffs Saturday:
–Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic wil face Mercer at Slippery Rock high school beginning at noon in the PIAA 1A quarterfinals.
–North Allegheny will face Peters Township Saturday in the 4A quarterfinals at 2pm.
Girls Volleyball:
–Seneca Valley will meet North Allegheny at Ambridge high school Saturday at 1:30pm in the 4A state quartefinals.
–Armstrong will face Garnet Valley at Shippensburg high school in another 4A quarterfinal match at 1:30pm.
–Knoch will meet General McLane at Slippery Rock high school Saturday in the 3A quarterfinals. Match begins at 3pm.
–Freeport will meet Corry at Slippery Rock high school in the 2A quarterfinals – also at Slippery Rock high school at 1pm.
