The Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Kansas City Royals 2-1 last night at PNC Park. Wilmer Difo drove in the game-winning run in the seventh inning with a pinch-hit single. Tyler Anderson allowed one run on three hits over six innings for the Pirates. He walked two and struck out five. Colin Moran led the Bucs with three hits. The Pirates bullpen did not allow a run as it closed out the final three innings.
The Pirates improved to 12-11 and climbed above .500 for the first time since opening day this season. They host the Royals again tonight at 6:35pm. Pre-game on WISR is 6:10.
