Butler Township will settle a legal dispute with Vogel Disposal Service Incorporated.
On the recommendation of Township Solicitor Rebecca Black, Township Commissioners approved a motion to accept a settlement offer from Vogel in the amount of nearly $54,000 to end litigation.
According to Black, the lawsuit was filed over the alleged overpayment of franchise fees to the township over a number of years. The original amount Vogel filed suit for was about $177,000.
Black called this settlement “a good outcome” for the township. The matter is now considered resolved and litigation will be dismissed.
