The Pittsburgh Pirates lost an opportunity for a three game sweep of the Colorado Rockies yesterday at PNC Park following a 4-3 loss. Richard Rodriguez blew his first save opportunity of the year, allowing two runs in the top of the 9th.
The blown save also cost Chase De Jong a win in his Pirates debut. The 27-year-old right hander tossed five innings, allowing three hits and striking out five.
The Pirates head to Kansas City to take on the Royals. Chad Kuhl will return to the starting rotation tonight, after being place on the injured list. First pitch is at 8:10 p.m. You can hear the game on WISR 680 AM.
