As more cities and businesses begin mandating the COVID vaccine for their employees, the Butler Health System says they are not implementing that policy as of now.
“It is not on the immediate plans for us, it is definitely something that we have discussed,” Dr. John Love, director of infectious disease said.
He also says he believes that policies like vaccine mandates should come from the Department of Health.
“As an organization, we and a lot of other hospitals feel like this needs to be mandate coming from at least the state level,” Love said. “There’s no question where this is coming from. Having a piecemeal approach to this doesn’t help.”
We reached out the Butler Health System to see what their current vaccination rate is among employees, but that data was not immediately available.
