The Pittsburgh Steelers have acquired inside linebacker Joe Schobert from the Jacksonville Jaguars for a sixth-round draft pick. He will make his debut when the Steelers host Detroit Saturday night. Schobert played his first four seasons in the NFL for the Cleveland Browns. He has averaged well over 100 tackles each season.
Former Pitt running back Dion Lewis announced his retirement from the NFL over the weekend. Lewis spent 10 seasons in the league. Lewis played for multiple teams in the NFL and helped New England win a Super Bowl. He was the 2009 Big East Conference offensive player and rookie of the year at Pitt – when he rushed for 1,799 yards, the second-most in Panthers history behind Tony Dorsett.
