Around $34 million was allotted to Butler County through the American Rescue Plan that passed earlier this year.
How does the county plan to use that money? Well, it may take some time before we know.
Butler County Commissioners say they don’t want to rush on a decision and would rather take the time to evaluate investment options.
The deadline to commit the money to projects isn’t until 2024, and that it must be spent by 2026.
Commissioners say that they hope to have public hearings, discussions with department heads, and other research to figure out a way to best leverage those funds.
