A man with Butler County connections has been named as one of this year’s campaign co-chairs by the United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania.
Dan LaVallee joined the board of United Way of Butler County in 2016 and currently serves on the Board of Directors for United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania.
Additionally, he also led the merger of United Way of Butler County and United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania in 2018.
In 2014 LaVallee ran for Pennsylvania’s third congressional district as the Democratic nominee but was defeated by Republican Mike Kelly. Now he is the senior director of social impact at UPMC Health Plan.
United Way also named Rich Harshman as co-chair. He spent 41 years as Chairman, President and CEO of Allegheny Technologies Incorporated (ATI).
