The numbers of hospitalizations, ICU patients, and deaths due to COVID-19 are going back up at the Butler Memorial Hospital after seeing very low numbers the previous months.
We’ve kept data throughout the pandemic to look at continuing trends associated with COVID-19 and the Butler Health System.
Just as in many parts of the country, numbers here were going down in May, June, and even July. In fact, July was the first month we saw no deaths at the hospital since July of 2020.
For most of the month of July, there were only a maximum of 3 patients hospitalized, but that number would increase near the end of the month, with, again, no deaths. Also, for most of July, there was no-one in the ICU.
In the first half of August, hospitalizations went up to 15 at one point and progressed to 24 by month’s end and a total of eight people had died.
The worst month for Butler Hospital continues to be December of 2020 where upwards of 65 people were hospitalized and 44 people had died.
Hospital and medical workers have been in an exhaustive battle against COVID for straight 18 months.
Officials at the Butler Hospital continue to stress the importance of getting vaccinated.
