The Pittsburgh Steelers opened their season with a 23-16 victory over the Buffalo Bills on the road Sunday. The Steelers got off to a slow start, falling behind 10-0 at the half, but outscored the Bills 23-6 in the second half.
Defense and special teams played a key part in the victory. Kicker Chris Boswell hit three field goals and the Steelers blocked a punt, with Ulysses Gilbert taking it back for a score.
Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger hit wide receiver Diontae Johnson for a five-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter and the Steelers defense sacked Bills quarterback Josh Allen three times.
Roethlisberger was 18-of-32 for 188 yards. Rookie running back Najee Harris carried the ball 16 times for 45 yards in his Steelers debut.
The Steelers will host the Las Vegas Raiders this Sunday at 1pm.
The Raiders host the Baltimore Ravens tonight at 8:15pm in the first Monday Night Football game of the season on ESPN. Kick-off is 8:15pm.
