Several state organizations are coming together to bring attention to safety in road work zones and prevention of jobsite accidents.
The event is called “Safer Together” and is an effort of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, and the Association of Pennsylvania Constructors.
Transportation workers are being asked to set aside 30 minutes today to focus on workzone safety through activities like safety talks, traffic control plan reviews, or a web-based temporary traffic control safety training course offered by PennDOT. Motorists are reminded to slow down in work zones, observe posted speed limits, and avoid phone use while driving.
For more information about this effort, visit the Safer Together page on the website of PA Constructors.
