Police have released more information about an incident earlier this week that resulted in serious injury to a pedestrian on Route 8.
According to Butler Township Police, shortly after 7:30 a.m. near the intersection of Route 8 and McCalmont Road, 27-year-old Brian Willoughby of Butler was attempting to cross Route 8.
He was struck in the northbound lane, with witnesses saying he flipped at least 20 feet into the air. Willoughby was flown by LifeFlight to a Pittsburgh hospital. The driver of the vehicle was not injured.
Police have not announced if any charges will be filed. Willoughby’s condition is unknown at this time.
