State police are reminding drivers and riders to buckle up this weekend.
The Thanksgiving “Click It or Ticket” campaign continues throughout the next couple of days.
PennDOT official Melissa Batula says the campaign is all about safety.
“The click it or ticket Thanksgiving enforcement mobilization effort began November 15th and runs through November 28th. Wearing your seatbelt of course is your best defense against injury or death in the event of a crash,” Batula said. “In fact, wearing a seatbelt really increases your chances of surviving a crash by up to 60 percent.”
Seatbelt usage in Pennsylvania is very high—an estimated 90 percent of state residents buckle up when they hit the road.
