The PIAA Basketball tournament begins this week across the state.
The Knoch girls will host St. Marys Wednesday in the Western Region First Round. Tip-off is set for 7pm. Pre-game on WISR begins at 6:45pm.
The Knights fell to Blackhawk 55-35 in the WPIAL 4A championship game Saturday. Their record is now 21-3 this season. Blackhawk improved to 24-0.
The Fox Chapel boys handed North Hills their first loss of the season in the 6A championship game Saturday. Both one-loss teams enter the PIAA tournament this week.
Also Wednesday – the Slippery Rock girls will host Moon at 7pm in the 5A First Round. The Rockets fell to Warren 46-34 in the District 10 5A final.
Tuesday:
–the North Catholic Girls will host Penn Cambria at 7pm in the 3A First Round.
The Karns City Boys topped Keystone 49-46 in overtime to grab a PIAA spot. They will visit Penn Manor Wednesday at 7pm in the First Roun,d.
