The Pittsburgh Penguins will host Columbus Tuesday after they ended their three-game road trip with a 4-1 victory over Arizona Saturday. The Pens remain tied with the New York Rangers after the Rangers defeated first-place Carolina 2-0 Sunday. The Hurricanes lead the two second-place teams by three points in the Metro Division.
The Pens do not face Carolina again in the regular season, but will face the Rangers three times in the next three weeks.
The Penguins agreed to a two-year contract extension for defenseman Mark Friedman. The deal is worth $1.5 million.
