The Butler Boys Track team competed in the Adidas National Championships at Virginia Beach over the weekend in a 3-day competition. The top 6 individuals and relay teams earn the All-American status in the USA.
–The Boys Sprint Medley Relay came away as National Champions with a time 3:31.24 and run by Braylen Young, Lucas Slear, Ryder Kriley and Guinness Brown,
–The same 4 boys ran the mile relay….the last event at the meet to finish 2nd overall with a new school record of 3:21.55
–The 4 x200 relay team of Presley Ornelas, Young, Slear and Brown took 8th place overall with a new school record of 1:29.93.
–All 3 of these relay times rank as the top times in the State. Butler’s boys team ranks number one in 4 of the 5 Indoor Track Relays in the state and 2nd overall in the 5th relay. Highest ranking by any team in State history.
–Guinness Brown finished 6th in the open 200 meters to grab the last All-American spot.
