The IUP men’s basketball team defeated Hillsdale, Michigan 67-55 last night in the NCAA Division II national quarterfinals. The game was played at the Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana. The Crimson Hawks are the #2-seed in the tournament, and improved to 33-2 this season. They will meet #3-seed Augusta State from Georgia in the semifinals Thursday evening. It will be IUP’s third trip to the national Final Four since head coach Joe Lombardi took over the program in 2006.
Top-seeded Nova Southeastern was eliminated by #8-Black Hills State 77-67 last night, and another minor upset occurred when #5-Northwest Missouri State defeated #4-Bentley 61-43.
