The Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the New York Islanders 6-3 last night at PPG Paints Arena. The victory secured the Penguins a playoff spot for the 16th consecutive season, the longest streak in North American professional sports. Jake Guentzel scored twice, and now has 37 goals this season. Sidney Crosby had the game-winning goal and three points.
The Pens visit Boston for an early afternoon game Saturday. Face-off is 12:30pm. WISR pregame begins just after the noon news. The Pens will be off for five days following tomorrow’s game.
The Pens moved five points in front of Washington after their victory, and the Capitals 7-3 loss to Toronto. The Pens are five points behind the New York Rangers with six games remaining.
