Former Pittsburgh Pirates reliever Tony Watson is retiring from Major League Baseball after 11 seasons. The 36-year old retires as the all-time leader for “holds” in baseball with 246, a statistic that began being tracked in 1999. Watson was drafted by the Pirates in 2007. He was sent to the Los Angeles Dodgers at the 2017 trade deadline in a deal that brought the Pirates organization one of their top prospects in shortstop Oneil Cruz.
