The Butler County Coroner confirmed to our newsroom that one person died due to a fatal gunshot wound early Saturday morning in Muddy Creek Township.
The initial call came into the Butler County 911 Center around 3:30 a.m. for a man found on the side of Kelly Road.
When police arrived on the scene, they found one man unresponsive with a gun shot wound to the head. A medical helicopter was initially called, however it was canceled within a half hour.
Kelly Road was shut down while police remained on scene to investigate.
