The St. Louis Cardinals defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 7-5 last night. The Bucs blew a 5-0 lead in the game, on their way to their seventh consecutive loss. The Cardinals erased the Pirate lead with five runs of their own in the sixth inning. Pirates starting pitcher Mitch Keller allowed two earned runs on seven hits over 5-1/3rd innings. Michael Chavis led the Bucs with two hits and three RBI’s.
The two teams will play a day-night doubleheader today. The first game will begin at 1:15pm. Pre-game on WISR begins at 12:50pm. The second game begins at 7:45pm.
