The Major League Baseball All-Star Game will be played tonight at Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles. Pittsburgh Pirates reliever David Bednar is a member of the National League team. First pitch is 8pm.
Clayton Kershaw of the Dodgers will be the N.L. starting pitcher. Shane McClanahan of the Tampa Bay Rays will be the American League starter.
Last night – Juan Soto of the Washington Nationals defeated Seattle Mariners rookie Julio Rodriguez to win the Home Run Derby 19-18 in the final round. The 23-year old Soto hit a total of 53 home runs, defeating each of his opponents by one homer in each of the three rounds.
In a new rule change for tonight’s All-Star game – if the game is tied after nine innings, a home run derby will decide the outcome.
