An elderly man in Mercer County is out thousands of dollars following a scam.
State police say the incident happened in Grove City last week when an 87-year-old man received a phone call that a family member was involved in a vehicle accident.
He was told a pregnant woman was injured and was in need of cash to get out of jail. A man then arrived at the residence, where the victim gave the scammer $9,000 in cash.
No details were available about a possible suspect.
