Butler County emergency crews have been keeping busy this morning following a number of vehicle accidents.
The Pennsylvania Turnpike saw delays in both directions after multiple crashes this morning in between the Beaver Valley and Cranberry interchanges.
Initially, both lanes were closed for a time, but it appears both directions have now reopened with lane restrictions. Details are sketchy on both accidents, but dispatchers say there was at least one person injured in the crash that happened near mile marker 18.
I-79 meanwhile had delays following a one vehicle crash near the Evans City exit. This rollover crash took place around 5:30 a.m. near mile marker 80. Crews on the scene say one person was involved in the crash, but did not suffer significant injuries.
One person was taken to the hospital following a crash this morning on Route 356.
The single vehicle crash happened just before 6:30 a.m. near Heasley’s Nursery.
Dispatchers say one vehicle crashed into a utility pole, shearing it in half.
The 34-year-old driver was taken to the hospital suffering cuts to his head.
There are just a handful of homes without power this morning following that crash.
