Police have released more information about a crash involving multiple motorcycles that happened late last week in Butler Township.
The accident took place Friday evening around 5 p.m. on Route 8 South at the intersection of Cooledge Street.
Police say 64-year-old Donald Stoughton of Butler was driving north on Route 8 when a three-wheeled motorcycle pulled out in front of him.
Stoughton told police he tried to veer and avoid the collision, but ultimately hit another motorcycle driven by 74-year-old Ronald Nye of Wellsville, New York with his passenger 70-year-old Beverly Nye.
Stoughton’s vehicle also then hit the three-wheeled motorcycle driven by 68-year-old Linda Stark, also of Wellsville.
All three motorcyclists had to be taken to the hospital until crews could clear the scene.
Butler Township Police say they are continuing their investigation.
