The New York Mets halted the Pittsburgh Pirates four-game winning streak with a 7-1 victory last night. The Pirates struck out 16 times in the opening game of a four-game series and managed just four hits. Pirates starter J.T. Brubaker allowed five runs on seven hits in three innings, and did not return for the fourth inning with an apparent injury. His record fell to 3-12 this season.
The Bucs and Mets play again tonight at 7:10pm.
