The Pittsburgh Pirates visit the New York Yankees to begin a two-game series tonight in the Bronx. First pitch is 7:05pm. WISR pre-game begins at 6:40pm.
Eyes will be following Yankees slugger Aaron Judge, who is two home runs away from Hall of Famer Roger Maris’ American League home run record of 61.
Meanwhile, St. Louis slugger Albert Pujols is two home runs away from reaching 700 for his career. The Pirates face the Cardinals six times in their final 15 games of the season.
The New York Mets defeated the Milwaukee Brewers last night 7-2 for their fifth straight victory, and have clinched their first playoff berth in six years. The Mets pulled starting pitcher Max Scherzer despite him having a perfect game after six innings. Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich broke up the perfect game after Scherzer was pulled in the seventh inning. Scherzer did not allow a hit or a walk and struck out nine.
