Game Commission officials are reminding state residents to continue to report wild bird deaths as the bird flu still spreads.
Recently 30 Canadian Geese in Lackawanna County were found to have the highly pathogenic avian influenza.
With wild bird hunting season either underway or soon to start, the Game Commission is reminding hunters to be safe when handling the birds.
They encourage you to harvest only on healthy-birds, wear gloves when handling the birds, and to wash your hands immediately afterwards.
Any sick or dead birds should be reported to the PA Department of Agriculture.
