Gas prices continue to inch down both locally as well as across western Pennsylvania as a whole this week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of Monday, dropped by two cents over the past week to settle at $3.91 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole also dropped by two cents during that same time to arrive at $3.88. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Brookville at $3.65, while the most expensive is $4.03 in Mercer.
The average national gas price increased by seven cents over the past week to reach $3.79 due to higher demand and less available supply. The price of oil decreased last week as a result of ongoing concerns about slowing of global economic growth.
