A Cranberry Township resident will now take the reins as the top justice in the Pennsylvania court system.
Debra Todd was named the new Chief Justice of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court following the death of Justice Max Baer over the weekend.
Todd has served on the Supreme Court since being first elected in 2007. Prior to that, she was a member of the state’s Superior Court.
She is the first woman to ever hold the Chief Justice position in Pennsylvania—which is given to the longest tenured judge on the court.
