Less than a week away from the general election, Butler County has hired a new elections director.
According to a press release from county commissioners, Chantell McCurdy has been named Director of the Bureau of Elections.
McCurdy has been a Butler County employee for the past five years as a Registrar in the Elections Bureau. McCurdy has a degree in Political Science from Penn State University and lives in the county with her husband.
This promotion must be ratified by the County’s Salary Board at their next public meeting in order to become official. Butler County Solicitor Wil White has been serving as the interim head of the Elections Bureau since shortly before this spring’s primary election.
