The latest College Football Playoff Rankings has replaced Ohio State with Southern Cal this week in the top four. Ohio State lost to Michigan last week. The Wolverines move up to #2 followed by TCU. Reigning national champion Georgia remains at #1. All four of the top ranked teams will be involved in conference championship games this week. The final poll will be released Sunday and will determine the four teams who will play for the national championship.
The national semifinal games will be played New Year’s Eve, December 31st and hosted by the Fiesta Bowl and Peach Bowl. The winners will play for the national championship game January 9th.
Ohio State fell three spots to #5 ahead of Alabama.
In conference championship games this weekend:
–Southern Cal will meet Utah in Las Vegas Friday for the Pac 12 title at 8pm.
–TCU and Kansas State meet in the Big 12 title game Saturday at noon.
–Georgia and LSU will play for the SEC championship Saturday at 4pm.
–Michigan and Purdue play for the Big Ten Championship Saturday at 8pm.
