The Pittsburgh Penguins had their seven-game winning streak snapped with a 3-2 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes last night. The Hurricanes scored twice in the third period and remain unbeaten in the last 11 games. Rikard Rackell scored his 13th goal of the season for the Pens. Brock McGinn added his ninth. Casey DeSmith stopped 26 of 29 shots in net for the Pens. The loss dropped the Penguins one point behind the New York Rangers into fourth place in the Metropolitan Division. The Penguins host the Rangers tomorrow night, then host the Hurricanes Thursday.
