Multiple municipalities will be receiving federal dollars as they prepare to tackle future infrastructure projects.
Butler County Commissioners announced that over $11 million will be going to local governments to fund projects dealing with sewage, water, and stormwater. A portion of that funding is going toward the effort to help curb flooding in southwestern Butler County.
Former Cranberry Township Manager Jerry Andree spoke at yesterday’s public meeting. He says this latest round of funding shows a commitment by the county commissioners to fixing this issue.
“Stormwater does not respect municipal boundaries. I’m pleased to say 10 communities in southwestern Butler County accepted the commissioners charge and began a journey of collaboration between themselves and Butler County by building new and sustainable relationships,” Andree said.
The dollars come from the American Rescue Plan Act, which brought $37 million in federal funding into the county.
