A large amount of federal funding will be coming to Western Pennsylvania this year including money for four Butler County projects.
According to U.S. Representative Mike Kelly, among the Community Project Funding grants approved last month is $6 million for replacement of the Karns Crossing Bridge which is the blue bridge on Route 68 that leads to the Route 422 interchange.
Also included in this funding is $5 million for upgrades to the Brush Creek Watershed Plant in Cranberry Township, $2.5 million for Phase 2 of the Route 422 Bypass improvements, and $1.5 for the construction of the Harmony Fire District Station.
Congressman Kelly requested the funding for these community projects as part of the 2023 fiscal year spending package. However, he did vote against the final bill in December.
