A teenager was killed in a vehicle crash Sunday evening in Slippery Rock Township.
The one car crash happened around 6:15 p.m. on Route 8 at the intersection with Kiester Road.
State police say a 17-year-old from Butler was driving north on Route 8 when he lost control of his SUV. The vehicle went off the road and hit a tree.
A 15-year-old passenger in the car was pronounced dead at the scene. The 17-year-old suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.
Police say the road was snow covered at the time of the crash. Route 8 was closed for a couple of hours so crews could investigate.
