A local lawmaker has been named to a prominent position on a national legislative subcommittee.
U.S. Representative Mike Kelly, of Butler, will serve as the Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee’s Subcommittee on Tax.
This subcommittee oversees tax policy and collection of tax revenue by the federal government through the Internal Revenue Service.
Kelly has served on the Ways and Means Committee since 2013 and will continue on the Health subcommittee.
Kelly previously served as the lead Republican on the House Ways and Means Subcommittee on Select Revenue Measures.
