Officials with Penn Power are reminding customers of different payment assistance options as the winter months linger on.
They say some customers may get behind on payments, but there are a number of utility assistance programs to help customers pay electric bills.
Among the options include the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program—known as LIHEAP—which is run through the state Department of Human Services. Residents can apply by calling 1-866-857-7095 or visit www.compass.state.pa.us.
There is also the Pennsylvania Customer Assistance Program and Emergency Rental Assistance Program.
Penn Power officials say you can reach out to them directly, or call 2-1-1 to learn more.
